10 tips for teaching children belly dance 


Tip #1 – Keep it Playful💃 Kids learn best when they’re having fun! Try  a game where they have to “freeze” for working on posture or a  “join the dots” game for travelling steps.

Tip #2 – Age-Appropriate Music🎶 The right song = instant smiles! Choose upbeat music with family-friendly lyrics. Many teachers neglect to think about the meaning of the lyrics of the music they play for their young students. 

Look the lyrics up and avoid explicit language, adult references, and songs about harm depression, hate, etc. Go for happy, joyful, supportive, classical, traditional, etc themes.

Tip #3 – Props are MagicVeils, baskets and zills make every class an adventure. Just use them in short bursts to keep excitement high!
